Thomas Wilschut

Welcome to my website. I am a PhD student in cognitive science at the University of Groningen. Human learning and forgetting are fields that trigger my interest in particular. In my PhD project, which is supervised by Hedderik van Rijn and Florian Sense, I am examining ways to improve cognitive models of memory retrieval that are used in adaptive fact learning systems in educational settings (MemoryLab). I also work on the application of memory models for the assessment and monitoring of memory function in clinical contexts (SGMA). You can read more about my research projects here.

Next to my interests in cognitive science research, I am interested in philosophy of cognitive science and in the communication of science to the general public.

On this website, you can find an overview of my research. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me using one of the options in the menu.
